Library Rules

Membership 

(Who can use the Library?)

·         All the students of IMCC are the members of   the Institutional Library.
·         All the teachers of Computer and Management faculty of IMCC, non-teaching staff of IMCC are the members of the Institutional Library.
·         Visiting faculty / Lab instructors may use IMCC Library on the recommendations of respective HOD’s.
Use of the Library is strictly reserved for the readers possessing a library borrower’s ticket. 

Loan Privilege and Period of Loan

(How many documents can be issued?)

(a) Students

·         One book against producing one   Reader’s ticket could be borrowed for the period of 7 days from the date of issue.
·         One CD/back issue of periodical could be borrowed for the period of 3 days from the date of issue.
·         Students of Computer Science Courses (MCA, MCM, and DCM) can get One Project report for a period of 7 days against producing Identity Card/Borrower’s Ticket of the Library.   
·         Students can get One Additional Borrower’s Ticket by depositing the additional deposit amount of Rs.500/- 

·         Library Borrower’s Ticket is not transferable.

Renewal of Books

(i)                   A book may be re-issued for 2 times, if it is not in demand.
(ii)                 Telephonic Renewal is allowed in emergency reasons only.                                                                                      

Loss of Reader’s Ticket / Identity Card

·         Loss of the reader’s ticket /Identity card should be immediately reported to the Librarian.
·         A duplicate thereof, shall be issued after payment of Rs. 50/-

 

Fine

·         Fine of Rs.2/- per day will be charged if the documents (books, project, CD) is not returned on due date.

Reference material not to be lent-out

         i.            The following categories of book, journals etc. shall not    be issued out of the library.
                                                    
1)       Books treated as Reference by the library.
2)       Books treated as Hall Reading copies by the library.
3)       Bound journals.
4)       Project Reports of MPM & PGDBM courses.
5)       Question papers.
        ii.            Question paper set is a reference material, and may be   issued for a short period of one hour for Xeroxing. A fine of Rs. 20/- per day per paper set will be charged if is not returned on the same day.

 (b) Teachers of Management and Computer science Faculty of IMCC

·         A teacher can borrow 6 books per paper he/she is teaching, at a time during the academic year.
·         As well as 2 documents other than books can be borrowed at a time.
·         Visiting faculty can borrow 3 books per paper
during the semester.

 (c) Non-Teaching staff Members

·         The non-teaching staff members can borrow 2 documents at a time during the academic year.

Replacement of Lost or Damaged book/reading material     

·         A borrower shall replace a book if it is lost while in custody.
·         In case borrower fails to replace a lost or damaged book within a month from the due date of its return, he/she shall pay to the library the cost of the book.

·         A person loosing or damaging Library books repeatedly shall be debarred from using the Library.

Inter-Library Loan

·         Books and other reading material not available in the institutional library may be produced for the use of the readers on Inter-Library loan basis from other libraries as far as possible.
·         Similarly reading materials may be lent out to other libraries when request is received.
·         The reading material procured on inter-Library loan will be issued to a member for 7 days. 

No Dues

·         Last year students (MCA III, MCM II, PGDBM II, MBS, and MPM II) must return all the library books & other documents borrowed by them and cleared all library dues before Term-End.
·         Last year students should deposit the Identity card along with the lanyard and Borrower’s Ticket while taking “No Dues” from the library.

·         The other members of library must return all the library books & other documents borrowed by them & cleared all library dues before Term-End.

 

Reading Hall Rules

·         When the depositor leaves the Library, he/she must take out his/her all articles deposited at the property counter.
·         Smoking, eatables and drinks are not allowed in the Library.
·         Mobile phones to be kept on silent mode in the Library Premises.
·         All readers are required to maintain the perfect silence & discipline in the Library.
·         The members caught tearing pages/stealing of books (Taking out the books /CD’s/Project reports without issuing) will be suspended forthwith from using the Library facilities and further disciplinary action will be initiated against them by the institute.
·         The Library reserves the right to suspend the membership of any member found misbehaving, abusing the Library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.
·         Please report to us immediately, if you find anyone damaging the Library materials.
·         Any infringement of Library rules may lead to the withdrawal of membership privileges.

·         If you want to take books from the stacks to the reading hall, please deposit your I-card along with the book card at the circulation counter.

·         The student must carry Identity card along with them while sitting in the library reading hall.

·         Library rules may be amended or altered as and when necessary.
